teel Services offers plasma cutting from our Processing Division located in our Richmond facility. This machine, manufactured by MG Industries® coupled with SigmaNest™, a true shape nesting program allows us to provide plasma cut parts to all our locations. We offer HyDefinition® plasma cutting for precision cut parts and high speed plasma cuting for large volume jobs. Fact Sheet

  • One 100 amp HyDefinition® plasma cutting head
  • Two 200 amp conventional plasma cutting heads
  • 10' x 30' water filled cutting table with rust inhibitor
  • Burny® 5 CNC controller
  • Types of material :
    • carbon steel
    • stainless steel
    • aluminum
    • virtually any electrically conductive material that is clean and flat
  • Machine accuracy to +/- .010 and motion repeatability of +/- .003
    • These are not actual cut part tolerances. It is machine accuracy only.
    • Actual cut part tolerances will depend on size and thickness of the part and which process is used.
  • HyDefinition® vs. Conventional Plasma
    • HyDefinition plasma produces a more accurate part with better edge quality on material from 20 gauge to ½" thick than Conventional plasma.
    • Conventional Plasma produces higher cutting speeds with edge quality and accuracy comparable or superior to oxy/fuel burning on material from 10 gauge to 3/4" thick.
    • Both processes can be used separately or together to produce a part.
